Kim Goldberg

Kim Goldberg is the author of several books of poetry and nonfiction, including Undetectable (2016, Pig Squash Press). Undetectable is her haibun memoir of her Hepatitis C journey and cure. The book has received positive reviews in Vancouver Sun, Vancouver Observer and elsewhere. Kim has been using the book to raise public awareness about Hepatitis C and the need for everyone to be tested now that the cure has arrived.

Since 1985, Kim has supported herself from her writing. Her haiku, tanka, haibun and renga have appeared in various literary magazines and anthologies including: Journal of Renga & Renku, Kamesan’s World Haiku Anthology on War, subTerrain, West Coast Line, Dark Mountain Book 9, Cascadia Review and elsewhere.

Kim is particularly fond of reading and writing speculative fiction and poetry. She is a winner of the Rannu Fund Poetry Prize for Speculative Literature, and a finalist for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award for Ride Backwards on Dragon: a poet’s journey through Liuhebafa (2007, Leaf Press; 2011, Pig Squash Press).

Kim lives in Nanaimo, BC, in a 1940s cottage left over from the town’s coal-mining era. She holds a degree in biology and is an avid hiker, birdwatcher and nature lover. When she isn’t writing, she is out wandering.
